Darryl Bradley Drew
January 26, 1945 - March 30, 2022
Darryl Bradley Drew passed on March 30, 2022 at home with family by his side in Dana Point, California after a year long battle against cancer.
Darryl was born in Riverside, California on January 26, 1945 to Robert and Celeste Drew. He grew up and lived in Southern California for the majority of his 77 years and graduated from Costa Mesa High School in 1963.
After attending Orange Coast College, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in November 1966. Darryl served in Vietnam as a SP5 UH-1 Huey helicopter crew chief and door gunner and was awarded the Air Medal for action in combat.
Upon his return home he worked in the family business at Bristol Hardware in Santa Ana before becoming a Private Investigator for many years. An excellent carpenter and woodworker, he later owned a home improvement, remodel, and inspection business.
Darryl was a much loved husband, father, and grandfather, and over the years loved to snow ski, surf, and mountain bike.
He is survived by his wife Jane (McNeese) Drew, children Brad (Kary) Drew, Kary (Dan) Geaney and three grandchildren Abby, Mia, and Kate Geaney.

sad to hear of darryl passing, we lived in collage park and became good friends. couple of memories, his older sister was married to a fighter pilot, i was at his house when she received the message her husband had been killed over north vietnam..very bad for her and his family. we did a surf trip our sophomore summer, me darryl dave hughes brothers, big jim harper, gary roberson. darryl took his dads 55 chevy wagon and daves older brothers had an old chevy. we made to rincon but ran out of money.. still had a great time....good guy, tough loss
