November 22, 1945 - September 20, 2015

William (Bill) Peter Frank died on Sunday 20 September 2015 at the age of 69.

Dr. Frank was Curator of Hispanic, Cartographic, and Western Historical Manuscripts at the Huntington Library in Pasadena, CA, a position he held for almost three decades. Earlier, Bill received a Bachelors and Doctorate in History at the University of California at Los Angeles.

Dr. Frank had a lifelong passion for the study and preservation of the history of Western Europe, California, and cartography. He also had an enduring love of travel and his children.

He is survived by his son, Richard William Frank, and daughter, Christina Louise Bradfield. A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn (Hollywood Hills) on Saturday September 26 at 3pm.

Larry Motschenbacher

Bill was a good friend and I spend many hours at his house when we were young. On September 27, 2014, he invited me up to Huntington Library and spent the day taking me on a tour of their wonderful facilities while we talked about the years that have passed.  We had a great time. When I left I was only sad because I wished we had kept in touch better over the years.  Unfotunately I only took one photo 

In addition, I found this photo in a KCET online article, The Los Angleses River: A Recent View of the Past, Present, and Future which shows Bill on the far right.
