In Memory

Janet Sparman

Janet Sparman

Janet Ruth Sparman White
December 21, 1945 - January 25, 2020

Janet was 74 years old and lived in Santa Ana, California.  She is survived by her sister, Charla, Sparman Potter, and family.

Most of us who knew her as Janet. Later she was called Jan. I met her at Sunday school in Costa Mesa & shared her friendship with many others at Harper Elementary School, E A Rea Jr High School, CMHS, & OCC. We were friends for life. She completed the dental assisting program at OCC and worked her entire working career in the dental field as an assistant & ultimately managed a large Dental Surgery practice in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA I was saddened to learn from her sister, Charla Sparman Potter, that Janet had passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Rest in Peace sweet friend. You will always be loved by many.

I remember that Janet was the calming voice as I went to the dentists office.  She was a very nice person and I have memories of her when I went to the dreaded dental office.  Much sympathy to her family.

I went all through Harper elementary  school with Janet. We met at the corner of Flower St & Tustin in the morning & completed the walk to school. Occasionally I would go home with her after school, her Mom, Ruth would have fresh baked bread ready for us, which we slathered with butter, yum! Janet was always in a good mood, it was so nice to hang out with her. After CMHS she started working for a dentist & continued in that field for all her adult life. She leaves behind her sister & family & step kids from her marriage to Bob White.  We always called each other by our first & middle names to mess with each other. So, I will say good bye to ‘Janet Ruth’, my forever friend, love you and may you Rest In Peace.

Janet was one of my best friends. I knew her from 6th grade at Harper and on through jr high and CMHS. We also went to the same church and her parents were good friends with my parents.  I have really good memories from hanging out at her house. Her father called me "Peaches" because I always said things were peachy. Janet was kind and funny, and she and Dee Dee kind of took me under their wings since I was new to Costa Mesa. Janet was composed and seemingly unflappable. She had a smile for everyone.  I've looked for her at every reunion and, by coincidence, have thought of her several times during the last month or so. God moments? I had decided to send her sister, Charla, a
Facebook message asking about Janet, but waited too long. Lesson for all of us.Rest In Peace sweetie.
